1. New Fire Emblem for the 3DS? Even for somebody who has never owned a Nintendo system, it sounds so damned tempting.

Hopefully the price will go down once the Switch comes out.

2. Not too tempted to get FFXV. For now.

3. I suck at cosplay. Even when it's improvised cosplay.

4. I've said it once, and I'll say it again: Star Wars is terribly overrated.

I should probably change the name of this blog to #unpopularopinion soon.

1. Trying my best to suppress my desire to watch Fantastic Beasts. Exams are just around the corner and I'm still slacking and procrastinating...

2. I tend to overspend these days. And overeat. FML.

1. Less than 2 months before the exams. OMG.

And here I am still wasting time.

2. Doctor Strange was awesome. Slightly predictable, but still awesome. Like a roller-coaster ride. Had some Inception vibes as well.

...Yes, that was my fangirl bias talking. But it was still awesome.

And I understand the anguish of not being addressed using one's proper credentials. Pfft!

1. Am seriously considering of pre-ordering FFXV, even though there is a fat chance that I'd be able to finish FFXIII before the game actually comes out. I haven't even started on Sen no Kiseki II either!

Also, trying very hard resisting Chibi!Sephiroth. Let's see for how long...

2. Am terribly apprehensive about a Bleach Live Action.

Let's see if it can join in the ranks of awesome live actions such as Rurouni Kenshin or Nodame Cantabile...or sink in the cesspool of embarrassment that is made up of Shingeki no Kyoujin and a bunch of others...

...Speaking of which, I have yet to watch the Kuroshitsuji live action. To be honest though, I'm no big fan of Kuroshitsuji. Even so, I'm not happy with the most blatant change that the live action has adopted.

That, and the main actor. Pfft.

1. Wow. It is possible to hate my job more than ever.

Kudos to my superiors, although it probably isn't saying much. They are just not trying, at all.

I hope a grand retribution awaits ye.

2. I am ambivalent about the idea of a live-action Bleach. It's very difficult to achieve what Rurouni Kenshin and Death Note have. Gantz I have yet to see.

If they screw it up...God Help us all.

3. I am just so, so exhausted. I need a break already.

Not to be a sourpuss (...), but there's too much of Star Wars hype all around.

Don't get me wrong; I was once a moderate fan, back when I was still young and thought that Luke Skywalker was kinda cute. The plot was, however, to me incredibly predictable (or maybe I'm too Genre Savvy now). I didn't like Darth Vader much, but will grudgingly admit that lightsabres are pretty cool.

Maybe I just don't like the betrayals and stuff. And the great distinction between the light and dark side, being an ardent fan of Gray and Grey Morality (trope!).

Yeah. I really should get back to studying. I'm way behind anyway.

Bah.

Reel Steel

Deliberate typo is deliberate.

Back to the topic at hand, though - I've been hearing nothing but praises for Real Steel from my friends, saying how great the movie was and all. My initial reaction? The trailer looked meh, I'm no fan of Hugh Jackman, and c'mon, a cliche'd premise...

But it came as a pleasant surprise. While I'm no fan of robots or mecha, this movie is different - it has heart. And when the fights in the movie almost made me cheer on enthusiastically, then they must've done something right.

The main robot, Atom, is a small sized, sparring robot. It's designed to take as much beating, but not really one for dishing out punches. So along the course of the movie, we see it getting punches and falling down...only to stand back up and fight on.

That's how life wants us to be, isn't it? It surely isn't about the size, it's not how many times we fall - but how many times we can get back up for another round. Because life is brutal, and only the strong will survive...or risk getting washed away and crushed into bits.

Also, even if the official victory isn't won in the end, what matters is the fight itself, and the knowledge that you very well deserve a pat in the back for a job well done. Screw those people in power - the corrupted will remain so, but as long as you can maintain your morality and play nice, it should be all right, yes? Because the real fight is within us - the fight between right and wrong, which He will Reward most fairly in the next life.

And so, I leave this quote from the movie:

"We work smart, be patient, and pray. Seriously, we pray."

Spot on, brother.
